Our Customer Favorites Collection includes our two most popular sweet potato varieties that are grown by gardeners across the country. Beauregard and Georgia Jet have consistently been our best-selling varieties for decades. They perform well for gardeners in the southern and middle states, and the shorter maturity date also makes them a great option for gardeners in the northern states.

The Customer Favorites Collection Includes:

Beauregard Sweet Potato Plants

The Beauregard sweet potato variety is widely-adapted to perform well in southern and northern growing zones. This variety is popular because it produces a high percentage of high-quality, also known as #1 grade, sweet potatoes. These sweet potatoes have a creamy consistency when cooked, making them perfect for baking your favorite sweet treats.

Georgia Jet Sweet Potato Plants

Georgia Jet sweet potatoes are extremely popular due to their eating quality. These are widely-regarded as the most moist and best-tasting sweet potatoes you'll find. Georgia Jet sweet potatoes have a rounded shape which is perfect for baked sweet potatoes.

Growing the Customer Favorites Collection:

Beauregard and Georgia Jet will produce long trailing vines and should be given plenty of space to roam in your backyard garden. We recommend planting both of these varieties on a 4' row spacing so they have plenty of room to crawl. If growing conditions are ideal, these varieties can yield 1 lb or more of sweet potatoes per row foot of garden.

Sweet potato plants prefer warmer soils, so they should not be planted until the soil has sufficient warmed in spring or early summer. We suggest a 10-12" plant spacing along the row for best results. Consistent irrigation throughout the growth cycle will result in a more bountiful harvest and more #1 grade sweet potatoes.

Certified Sweet Potato Plants

All our sweet potato plants are inspected and certified to be disease-free. Our fields are regularly inspected and the sweet potatoes are checked daily during the harvest period.

The sweet potatoes are inspected again once in the storage house and checked a fourth time when placed in the beds for plant production.

This certification process is rigorous, but ensures our customers receive the highest-quality sweet potato plants.

  • Sweet potato plants should be planted once the risk of frost has passed and soils have warmed. Our plant shipping schedule ensures your sweet potato plants will arrive when your weather is ideal for planting. This schedule also ensures that you'll receive your plants in time for the sweet potato plants to reach full maturity before your first frost in fall.
