With ideal growing conditions, Georgia Jet can yield 1 lb or more of delicious sweet potatoes per row foot in your backyard garden. Georgia Jet sweet potato plants produce long, running vines. We recommend planting them on a 4′ row spacing so that they have plenty of room to crawl.
Because they’re more round than elongated, they are prone to cracking. This tends to happen when plants receive inconsistent watering as they approach their maturity date. Providing consistent irrigation throughout the growth cycle will result in higher quality sweet potatoes are harvest time. If you frequently have issues with sweet potatoes cracking, we suggest planting on a 8-10″ in-row spacing as opposed to the traditional 10-12″ spacing.
